Hailey offers free 24-hour community food waste drop-off sites. This program allows our community to drop off all residential food scraps, including meat and dairy, to be made into compost. There are currently seven bins located throughout Hailey.
The collected food scraps are brought to Winn's Compost to be turned into rich, nutrient-dense soil right here in the Wood River Valley! Keeping food scraps out of the garbage helps prevent potent greenhouse gases from being released when food breaks down in the landfill.
