The Hailey Police Department maintains an eligibility roster for future employment opportunities. The roster is based on reviews of resumes submitted by interested applicants. When a position opens in the department, those listed on the eligibility roster will be asked to submit a formal employment application. Application Process
To indicate your interest of employment with the Hailey Police Department,
please submit a resume and cover letter as stated above. Chief England would be happy to meet prospective applicants prior to the hiring process, simply email him and arrange a date/time to call or meet.
Once a pool of promising applicants has been identified, you will be contacted to arrange an interview with HPD command staff.
Depending upon the results of your interview, you would go through the following steps:
- Oral Board (interview)
- Written Application
- Personality Test
- Physical Readiness Test
- Psychological Exam
- Conditional Offer of Employment
- Personal Background Investigation
- Polygraph Examination
- Official Offer of Employment

Go on a Ride Along

Prior to going on a "Ride Along" you will be vetted and must sign a release of liability. No one under 18 years old may ride during our night shift hours.
