Idaho Power Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program
New Cash Incentives Available for Multifamily Residential Projects of 5 Units or More
Effective November 1, 2023, Idaho Power now offers direct cash incentives for developers and owners of multifamily buildings of 5 units or more, who also install energy-saving features that exceed the currently adopted Idaho State Code for building energy efficiency (2018 International Energy Conservation Code).
Cash incentives are available for installation of features like:
- Mini-splits and various styles of heat pumps
- Reflective Roof Treatment
- Smart Thermostats
- Efficient Window Treatments
There is NO CAP on the amount of incentives that can be claimed.
There are also incentives available for retrofit and renovation projects that apply similar energy efficiency measures.
Idaho Power has worked to remove as many barriers as possible for implementing energy efficiency features in multifamily buildings. In addition to the cash incentives for equipment/features, applicants to the program also have access to a Professional Assistance Incentive. Third-party architects or engineers who support the applicant with technical project design/documentation of energy efficiency measures are also eligible for a cash incentive, equal to 20% of the applicant's total incentive from equipment/installations (in addition and up to $5,000).
