2023 Election Information
Hailey General Election             Â
Tuesday, November 7, 2023, is election day. In this year’s municipal general election, Hailey voters will decide on the Mayor and one Hailey City Council Seat. One City Council Seat is contested during this election. Candidates running for office include:
- Seat No. 3:
- Dustin Stone
- Craig Kennedy Wolfrom
- Seat No. 4:
- Juan Martinez was the sole candidate filing for this Council seat. A new Idaho law (IC § 50-405) states that, if a city has established designated seats, and only one candidate files a declaration for candidacy, then the city clerk shall declare this candidate elected and the candidate is installed at the first Council meeting in January following the election. Therefore, the Hailey City Clerk has declared Juan Martinez as elected, and his name will not be on the ballot in November. You can read the full law here:  https://legislature.idaho.gov/statutesrules/idstat/Title50/T50CH4/SECT50-405/
