Protect your Pipes

FREEZING PIPES

Be prepared - don't let your pipes freeze this winter! With little insulating snow cover on the ground, and cooler temps be sure to:

  • Ensure pipes are properly insulated
  • Keep your home thermostat set to 55 degrees during cold weather
  • Open cabinet doors to warm pipes
  • Use water frequently to keep pipes from freezing
  • Keep a trickle of cold water flowing from a faucet if necessary
  • If traveling, have someone check your house periodically
