On May 19,  2020 the Hailey City Council considered and approved a the Planned Unit Development (PUD) Application for the development of a two-phase PUD totaling 147 units, to be called Sunbeam Subdivision and located on 54.38 acres within the Limited Residential 1 (LR 1) Zoning District. Now, the development of the Sunbeam Subdivision is underway.

Per the Planned Unit Development Agreement, the subdivision includes:

  • park and open space for residential and public use
  • bicycle and pedestrian connections, including to the existing Curtis Park in Old Cutters Subdivision
  • a recreational field, as well as a natural play and scenic area
  • single-family lots and duplex lots for the development of cottages

In 2020, the Sunbeam Subdivision was awarded the first National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Green Certification for Land Development in the United States! The rigorous rating system considers the design, planning, and development of residential and mixed-use communities. The Sunbeam Subdivision achieved the highest rating of the certification. The four-star certification was the first given in the state of Idaho, as well as the first in the country, under the new NGBS 2020 standards.
